Image Quality Elevation + IP-Native: Two Evolutionary Tracks for Broadcast Cameras at IBC 2026
After touring IBC 2026, two trends are unmistakable—and both are not future-facing, but ongoing and already being deployed.

First, the image quality baseline is rising.
HDR, large sensors, and wide color gamut—once flagship-exclusive—are rapidly cascading into professional and even mid-range products.

The reason is straightforward: displays are fully HDR-enabled. HDR TVs, wide-gamut monitors, and 4K smartphone screens have raised viewer expectations. If front-end acquisition cannot keep pace, the entire quality chain collapses at the acquisition stage.
At the show, the VX720LG demo was compelling. As the first PTZ camera to obtain broadcast HDR10 technical certification, it maintained high image quality under mixed booth lighting—ceiling lights, screen reflections, and natural light—with no highlight clipping, retained shadow detail, and natural color.

HDR10 certification is not granted casually; it requires rigorous luminance, color gamut, and dynamic range testing to meet broadcast-grade standards. More notable is the pricing signal: the VX720LG brings HDR10 and a 50MP large sensor into a highly competitive price bracket. HDR is no longer exclusive to top-tier studios.
